KO Propo Small Steering Sponge for EX-1 UR/Helios C2(KOPROPO)

Genuine replacement foam steering wheel for the KO Propo EX-1ur transmitter. This foam is mounted on the round steering wheel used to operate the steering (channel 1) of your RC car, and it is smaller in diameter than the foam used in other KO Propo transmitter steering wheels. The plastic steering wheel of the KO Propo EX-1ur is smaller in diameter compared to the standard steering wheels fitted to KO Propo transmitters.

This foam for the steering wheel is recommended for the KO Propo EX-1ur transmitter and for the EX-RR (which originally also uses a steering wheel of smaller diameter).

How does the diameter of the steering wheel affect an RC transmitter?

Obviously, the foam we use to make the steering wheel of an RC transmitter more comfortable to grip must have a diameter that matches the dimensions of the plastic or aluminum wheel it's mounted on. This way, the foam won't be too tight or too loose.

Therefore, if the steering wheel is slightly smaller (less diameter than usual steering wheels), the foam we use on top must also be adjusted to these measurements.

Using a smaller diameter steering wheel on our transmitter will result in a noticeable difference in steering sensitivity . With a smaller diameter, the reactions will be slightly more abrupt, as less finger movement will achieve the same wheel rotation on our RC car. This results in more direct, responsive steering.

By using a standard-sized steering wheel, we gain progressiveness and smoothness in the control of channel 1 of our RC car, the channel responsible for right/left turning.

Many high-level RC car drivers prefer these smaller steering wheels to feel the car's reactions much more and be faster at controlling them by maneuvering the steering wheel on their transmitter.

Can we change the steering wheel on our KO Propo radio?

Of course, the steering wheels of the various transmitters manufactured by KO Propo use the same mounting system, so they are interchangeable. Each KO Propo transmitter is designed with very specific characteristics, and the steering wheel size is one of them.

As you know, KO Propo transmitters are characterized by their high ergonomics and customization capabilities. Therefore, one of the adjustments we can make to adapt the transmitter to our piloting preferences is the size of the steering wheel and its corresponding foam grip.
